Following last month’s GPAC meeting, staff and the Ascent team have been working to make substantial revisions to the proposed Land Use Alternatives, including some completely new alternatives. Based on the volume of changes, we do not expect Ascent to have the Alternatives ready for the February GPAC meeting. We are therefore canceling the February meeting and we will be having our next regular meeting on Thursday, March 25.

In lieu of the February GPAC meeting, virtual office hours well be held Mondays 3-5pm and Fridays 9-11am through March 12 to allow members of the public interested in a one-on-one meeting with Town staff to weigh in on Alternatives, ask questions and provide GPAC feedback at a one-on-one level. To schedule a one-on-one meeting email PlanningDepartment@townoftruckee.com or call (530) 582-7776. Please note that meetings will be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

The Town of Truckee is sharing information about Tahoe Forest Health System's Master Plan outreach survey.

This is a survey conducted independent of the Town, though may be of interest to GPAC members and the community.

From Tahoe Forest Health System:

The Town’s General Plan identifies Tahoe Forest Hospital as a central hub for essential healthcare services, where we have served as the community’s hospital district and health system since 1953. Understanding your experience with the hospital campus will help us better serve our patients, employees and visitors to plan for the future.

Your valuable feedback will be used to inform concepts guiding the improvement of our hospital campus features such as on-site parking, land use, and wayfinding.

This survey is just the foundation of an extended community engagement effort. There will be workshops and other opportunities coming up to share additional feedback in the Master Planning process.

The Town of Truckee is embarking on a process to study new housing, economic development strategies, and sustainable mobility opportunities within the Gateway Area. This new project builds from the recent Envision DPR work and provides an opportunity for the community to discuss the look, feel, character, and types of uses that are most desired and appropriate for the Gateway Area.
